The programme EDSTATS is intended to perform calculations of a variety of indicators concerning primary and secondary education. The Statistics Division of UNESCO, Paris, develops it. Gross, net and age-specific enrolment rations; promotion, repetition and drop-out rates; evolution of a cohort of 1000 pupils and indicators of internal efficiency, like input/output ratio, wastage ratio etc. It can also be used to project enrolment both at the primary and upper primary levels of education. It also facilitates simulation of the development of enrolment using different assumptions as regards intake and transition rates. The copy of the software along with the manual can be obtained from
