I am a professor. Gratifying to see that you have hosted the reports of the Radhakrishnan and Mudaliar Commissions. The don't seem to be hosted even by the official government websites. Great work sir. Keep it up.
I have used the website Education for All in India by Prof. Mehta to gain lot of useful information for my PhD dissertation. I have found this website extremely resourceful and informative. Prof. Mehta has meticulously documented and researched many aspects about Indian education system, making it a rich source of reference for researchers like me. I hope more and more researchers use this website for policy related research, and request Prof. Mehta to continue posting such insightful resources.
Such an Informative Website. Keep up the great work.
such a nice information, great work, keep it up.
My name is Martin Haus and I am currently enrolled in the MRes/PhD program at the London School of Economics (LSE).
First of all, I really enjoyed your blog post on planning under SMSA. This is really insightful!
In my research, I am investigating how District-level administration affects the quality of education provision. For this, I would also like to use U-DISE data from the years 2010-2018. However, I noticed that the U-DISE+ platform has changed what data is shared with researchers. Currently, there seems to be only access to data for a single year (2018-19). For those researchers who are interested in the “moving picture” (i.e., longitudinal studies), this snapshot is somewhat problematic. Do you know how one can access the data for previous years?
I am aware that you are not heading NIEPA any more, but you are certainly the go-to person when it comes to U-DISE and planning.
If I may ask an additional question: do you find huge varieties in the quality of planning documents across Districts, even within States? So far, I had access to a few AWP&Bs under SSA (the famous EXCEL sheets and writ-ups), but not enough to let me analyse variation across them. Are you aware whether these are available at the national level or are these never sent to the Center, but only to States who prepare the State-level plans?
I hope my questions are appropriate and I would like to thank you for your work at NIEPA. I will keep reading your blogs and other work. I think this is important work and your voice certainly matters.
Thank you very much indeed.
