EFA Mid-Decade Assessment: 2008
Education for All in India
As a part of the global efforts towards achieving the goal of education for all, like in other countries of the world, efforts have been made in the past and still being made to achieve the objectives of earlier Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and now the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). In India, the National Institute/University of Educational planning & Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi has been playing pivotal role towards achieving Education For All (EFA) in view of which the Government of India, Ministry of HRD had given the responsibility to review the progress of EFA efforts made in India during the decade 1991 to 2001 to NIEPA, New Delhi.
The present section presents a set of 20 research studies completed by researchers under the over all guidance of NIEPA on different aspects of Education For All. Prof. Arun C Mehta, Formally Professor and Head of the Department, NIEPA, New Delhi was also engaged in constructing 18-EFA indicators in India.
